About Me

My name is Amin Marashi and I live in Houston, Texas. I'm a Mechanical Engineering student. Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering, physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to design, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. I got into engineering because I was good at math. Just kidding! That wasn't the main reason. When I was young I loved building things. I played with Legos and I tried to understand how my toys were made. I found science and math very interesting in school. My family and teachers had an impact on my decision. My ultimate goal is to use the knowledge I obtain from school to help my community.
After graduating from Stratford High School, I attended Houston Community College to continue my studies. College is a great environment for anyone who truly enjoys learning. I graduated from HCC with an associate degree in science with high honors. Education is good, but it's not enough. Knowledge on its own is not a good recipe for success. Doing is what matters. That's why I decided to work. While attending school, I also work as a math tutor at HCC and I love what I do. Helping students is a rewarding experience. I have also volunteered at Houston Public Library. I always look for ways to help other people and give back to my community. If I make one person happy, that makes me happy.
My passion for computer software and programming started at an early age. Graphic designing was the first computer class I took. I learned how to use Photoshop to edit photos and create designs. A year later, I started to learn 3D modeling in 3dsMax. I learned a lot about 3D designing and engineering. The summer before my senior year of high school, I started learning programming and in that same year I programmed this website. Programming can be frustrating for a person who has just started; it was no different for me. However, after spending some time programming, I realized that I actually quite enjoy it. My message to you: Never give up on what you are truly passionate about. Surely, it gets hard but the end result is worth the time and effort.
